Launch Of mynext TVET Platform Marks A Milestone in Strengthening Malaysia’s TVET Programme

Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi who is also the Chairman of the National TVET Council (MTVET) has launched mynext TVET as one of the comprehensive initiatives to continuously empower the national TVET program.

The online platform developed by Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) focuses mainly on the formation of an integrated and efficient TVET talent management information system.

Acting as an online psychometric profiling instrument, mynext TVET was developed to become a database of TVET talent in the country and can subsequently be used by the Government to formulate a strategic intervention plan based on comprehensive data and analytics evidence.

The launch of the mynext TVET platform is very significant and coincides with the Government’s agenda to realise the desire to produce TVET-based skilled workers more aggressively.

The expansion of TalentCorp’s mynext platform in the national TVET ecosystem aims to help increase the marketability of TVET graduates through holistic career path guidance and guidance.

This platform also plays a role in helping TVET institutions plan and strengthen program offerings. On the employer’s side, the mynext TVET platform can be used for the purpose of offering and placing industrial training programs (internships) and further identifying suitable talents to meet the needs of the industry.

The implementation of industry-driven TVET requires a synergy of collaboration between industry and TVET providers on an ongoing basis. The strong cooperation between the industry and TVET institutions is very significant in ensuring a match between supply and demand (demand and supply) in helping local TVET institutions provide the needs of high-tech industry-based courses based on industry requirements.

Accordingly, the Government actively explores cooperation opportunities involving government-related and private companies through the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in an effort to increase and involve more industry parties in the implementation of the TVET program and further realise the transformation of the national TVET program.

In this ceremony, a total of 19 Memorandums of Cooperation for the Transformation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs Between Governments with Government-Related Companies and Private Companies were signed based on the suitability of the fields and the mutually agreed scope.

The signing of the MoC with the concept of an umbrella of cooperation becomes a link that can be utilised by public TVET institutions across 12 TVET-related Ministries in opening a space for close cooperation with the industry.
