MAHB Appoints Former SP Setia Group COO To Its Board

Malaysian Airports Holdings Berhad has appointed former SP Setia Group Chief Operating Officer Dato’ Seri Koe Peng Kang as its new independent director who will coming on board effecite 12 December.

Dato Koe joined SP Setia Berhad in 1997 as Senior Project Manager after which he rose through various business and operational roles until his appointment as Senior Executive Vice President of the S P Setia Group in 2019. Subsequently, he assumed the role of Deputy President and Group Chief Operating Officer until his retirement in September 2022.

Throughout his tenure in the S P Setia Group, Dato’ Seri Koe Peng Kang was directly involved in the development of Eco Series pioneer townships as well as in several projects in Japan and China. He was rotated around various leadership roles covering the scope of infrastructure, convention centres, hospitality, premium high rise and residential township projects.

Prior to joining SP Setia Berhad, Dato’ Seri Koe Peng Kang was involved in various national projects including Malaysian Rural Water Supply Scheme with the Biwater Group of United Kingdom (UK), Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme Phase 1 with the Hazama Gumi Ltd of Japan, and Samsung C&T Corporate-led South Korean Consortium for the implementation work of Petronas Twin Towers. He was also attached to IOI Berhad as project manager overseeing the development of 700 acres of Bandar Puchong Jaya township. In July 2023, Dato’ Seri Koe Peng Kang was appointed as President of World Council of Developers & Investors by the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI).

He is also a committee member of the Investor Relations and Strategic Partnership Subcommittee of Malaysia-China Business Council. He has also been appointed as Event Ambassador of UKs Chinese Information and Advisory Centre, a Queens Award non-governmental organisation based in London.

Dato’ Seri Koe Peng Kang is also the founding member of Lion Club at St James, London. In October 2023, he was appointed on the International Advisory Council of the World Digital Chamber.
