Sime Darby Establishes RM10 Billon Sukuk To Partly Finance UMW Acquisition

Sime Darby Berhad has announced that its subsidiary Sime Darby Enterprise Sdn Bhd established an unrated Islamic commercial papers and Islamic medium term notes programme based on the Shariah principle of Murabahah (via Tawarruq arrangement) for the issuance of Sukuk Murabahah of up to RM10 billion in nominal value, irrevocably and unconditionally guaranteed by the group.

The group said the Tranche 1 of the Sukuk Murabahah at an issue size of RM3 billion in nominal value has been issued to partly use for the acquisition of UWM Holdings.
