V. Sivakumar Respects Cabinet Reshuffle Decision Amid Corruption Allegations

Former Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar has expressed his respect for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s decision to drop him from the cabinet in the recent reshuffle.

Sivakumar, who served as the Human Resources Minister since December 3 last year, acknowledged the decision and expressed gratitude to the HR Ministry staff for their excellent cooperation during his tenure.

The cabinet reshuffle, which took place today, identified Sivakumar as one of the casualties, with former Deputy Finance Minister II Steven Sim Chee Keong set to take over his portfolio.

The move follows repeated calls for Sivakumar’s resignation earlier this year after an aide and several senior ministry officers were arrested over corruption allegations.

Sivakumar had been under investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding corruption allegations related to the recruitment of foreign workers.

On April, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigated the former Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar over allegations of receiving millions of ringgit through a middleman.

The funds were purportedly intended to secure the continuation of the government’s foreign worker recruitment contract for specific individuals.

The MACC conducted a search at Sivakumar’s office and home to gather evidence for the allegations.
