KPDN Debunked The Rumors Of Diesel Subsidy Removal

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) has debunked the speculations circulating on social media regarding the removal of diesel subsidies for vehicle users starting 1 January 2024, asserting that there is no truth to such claims.

In an official statement released today, KPDN clarified that the ministry is actively engaged in a pilot project aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of both the fleet card system and the MySubsidi Diesel System.

This initiative, involving six designated companies with quotas for skid tank usage, is slated to conclude on January 14.

The statement emphatically underlined that the pilot project exclusively concerns these designated companies and does not extend to individual diesel vehicle users. “The testing process is imperative to assess the efficiency of the developed system, ensuring its alignment with the specifications and objectives of the planned restructuring of diesel subsidies,” stated the release, reported Bernama.

KPDN urged the public to refrain from disseminating unclear and misleading information.

Furthermore, KPDN assured the public that any official announcements regarding the implementation details of the diesel subsidy restructuring will be jointly communicated by the ministry and the Ministry of Finance following the conclusion of the pilot project and the testing phase of the fleet card system and MySubsidi Diesel System.

The ministry urged citizens to rely on official channels for accurate information and cautioned against the spread of unverified news.

The commitment to transparency and clear communication remains a priority for KPDN, ensuring that the public is kept informed of any developments in this matter.
