Careplus Ventures Into Green Technology, EVs With Launch Of Careplus Mall In Seremban

Careplus Group Berhad launched Careplus Mall, established to provide electric vehicle networks with fast charging stations, TVET training, solar panel solutions for home and commercial use, and sports and entertainment infrastructure for the family.

Careplus CEO, Lim Kwee Shyan said that Careplus is now exploring potential business in green technology and renewable energy areas, including solar equipment and electric vehicles.

“Currently, Careplus Mall has a Sales, Service, Spare Parts and Body Repairs (4S) for electric vehicles for the NETA brand, and equipment for solar panel solutions for home and commercial applications”, he said.

“It also includes several relevant businesses, such as GENTARI that will install 6 fast charging station with capacities between 180-250kW, that is expected to be ready by Q2 2024”, he added.

Careplus is also partnering GoAuto Group to explore areas related to the EV industry. A collaboration has been agreed between the two parties in the importation and distribution of the NETA electric car, and assembly of multi-model New Energy Vehicles through a planned manufacturing and assembly plant in Kawasan Perindustrian Chembong, Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. 

“Phase one of the project involves the development of an assembly plant, expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, phases two and three will begin in 2026 and 2028 respectively. The estimated total gross development value (GDV) of the plant development is about Ringgit Malaysia Six Hundred Million (RM600,000,000), ” said Go Auto Group Chairman, Dato’ SM Azli SM Nasimuddin Kamal.

He also explained that the new plant will not only assemble vehicles with the NETA brand but is also open to other EV brands that intend to assemble locally when the plant is ready.

In the same event, Lim also handed over a NETA V replica key to BAKRIYAH for the use of the organisation for a year. The replica was received by Yang Dipertua BAKRIYAH, Datin Seri Wan Hasni Wan Yusof.

In conjunction with the launch, Careplus will organise the Asia Food Festival which will take place over a week from 14th to 20th December 2023 from 3pm to 11pm. Visitors from Seremban and adjacent areas can enjoy various cuisines sold here.
