Japan Cabinet Shake Up Underway

Embattled Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida who has lost public support after taking office for just a year is looking to revive interest in his administration by replacing cabinet members at the centre of a financial probe.

The Prime Minister is battling to control the damage from on the biggest financial scandals his ruling party has faced in decades. Kishida said he is finanlising the shake up to restore public confidence after Industry Minister saying he had resigned and ex foreign minister confirming he had been asked to rejoin the cabinet.

According to local media reports, four ministers and several deputy ministers are set to go from the cabinet which is to be Kishida’s third overhaul since taking office.
