TM Appoints Two New Directors

Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) appointed two new directors to the boardroom, Datuk Dr Shahrazat Ahmad and Iszad Jefri Ismail effective tomorrow (Dec 15).

In a Bursa filing today, the group said Shahrazat, 54, is appointed as the new non-independent, non-executive director while Iszad Jefri, 43, is the new alternate director.

Shahrazat started her career in early 1995 as the principal assistant secretary assistant under Secretary Government Investment Company division of Finance Ministry (MoF).

“Later, she joined Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department holding several positions such as deputy director general (Development), director (Outcome Evaluation Division), director (Social Division), director (Economic Division) and deputy director (Infrastructure Division) from 2010 to 2021.

“She then served as deputy secretary general (Development), Defence Ministry from November 2021 to October 2023 before being transferred to her current position in MoF.

“She is currently a director in Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP) and The National Trust Fund of Malaysia (KWAN). She also serves as director in private companies under the purview of MoF.

Meanwhile, Iszad Jefri is currently the principal assistant secretary at the MoF’s Government Investment Companies division, responsible for managing and monitoring corporate matters, investment and strategic direction of Minister of Finance (Incorporated) (MoF Inc) companies, particularly on land public transportation sector.

“Apart from that, he is also the covering Strategic Sector section head, which also covers MoF Inc’s companies and interests in utilities, energy and telecommunication sectors.

“In line with his portfolio, he is involved in monitoring mega infrastructure projects such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line 1, MRT Line 2, East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), Rapid Transit System (RTS) and KL-Singapore High Speed Rail.

“He also serves as director in private companies under the purview of MoF,” it said.

Prior to his current position, Iszad was a Senior Private Secretary to the Minister of Finance II, responsible for managing and administering ministerial affairs for the said minister, the group added.

“Iszad also served as principal assistant secretary at the Economic and International Division, MoF for six years, where he was involved in the macro-economic policy and budget strategy formulation.

“He was also involved in the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) initiatives at MoF level. Iszad was a member of the National Budget Speech Team for two years, responsible for drafting and formulating the national budget speech.”
