Cisco Unveils Networking, Security Solutions For SMBs In Malaysia

Cisco, a global leader in networking and cybersecurity technology, has introduced a range of networking and security products tailored for Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) in Asia-Pacific.

The announcement was made at Cisco Live Melbourne, featuring the launch of Cisco Catalyst™ 1200 and 1300 Series switches along with the Cisco Meraki MX.

The newly unveiled products are designed to simplify and expedite network and security setup, addressing the unique needs and budget constraints of SMBs.

Recognising the pivotal role of SMBs in Malaysia’s economy, Cisco aims to empower these businesses to accelerate their digitization efforts by providing streamlined and secure connectivity.

Cisco Malaysia Managing Director, Hana Raja emphasised the challenges faced by small businesses in today’s rapidly changing landscape.

She said, “There is an opportunity to provide them with a simpler network and security management platform experience to help them accelerate their digital journeys without the worry of complexity so that they can focus on what matters most, growing their business.”

Key Offerings for SMBs:

  1. Catalyst™ 1200 and 1300 Series Switches: These switches serve as fundamental components for any network, enabling communication between connected devices. Cisco’s new Catalyst switches can be deployed on-premises or as cloud-based managed solutions. The deployment is further simplified through the Cisco Business Dashboard, a centralized network management tool automating deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  2. Meraki MX: An all-in-one security and SD-WAN solution, Meraki MX addresses critical cybersecurity needs for SMBs. It offers features such as application-based firewall, content filtering, threat protection, VPN, cellular failover, and more. Fully cloud-managed with zero-touch installation, the solution enhances visibility and insights into SaaS performance and network health.
  3. MSP Express for SMB: Cisco introduces a scalable Managed Services catalogue for partners to offer SMBs across the region. Leveraging core Cisco products, including Meraki, DUO, Umbrella, and Webex, SMBs gain flexibility and choice in consuming technology based on their capital allocation priorities.

Cisco’s commitment to the SMB segment is underlined by the launch of the Cisco Partner Journey for SMB partners. This initiative consolidates content, resources, and tools, enabling partners to deliver optimal outcomes for SMB customers in the region.

As SMBs contribute significantly to Malaysia’s GDP, Cisco’s investment in this sector aims to propel their digitization efforts, reduce complexity, and enhance their overall competitiveness in the evolving digital landscape.
