Govt Midst Of Procuring New Pfizer Vaccines

The Ministry of Health has announced through a live broadcast that there may be a surge in Covid-19 cases in Malaysia due to the peak holiday season. However, the Minister, Dzulkefly Ahmad, has assured that the situation is currently under control and all medical facilities are adequately equipped to manage patients.

Despite this, the Minister has urged the public to take preventive measures such as wearing masks, using hand sanitiser, and avoiding crowded places to contain the spread of the virus.

The MOH has also reported that they have enough non-expired vaccines in stock and are in the process of procuring additional vaccines from Pfizer. Moreover, the latest Covid-19 variant detected in the country is Omicron, which is highly transmissible. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine (2023-2024 Formula) includes a monovalent (single) component that corresponds to the Omicron variant XBB.
