Maybank Offers Delayed Loan Repayment, Fee Waiver As Part Of Flood Relief Assistance

As more than 6 states now facing flood woes with many individuals, families and businesses facing disruption and financial difficulties, Maybank has announced that it is offering Flood Relief Assistance for those impacted by this force majoire.

The country’s largest bank is offering relief assistance aimed at easing the financial burden of Maybank customers impacted by the floods. Maybank said the assistance is designed to address the challenges the flood victims are facing and will include, amongst others, deferment of financing/loan repayment, a reduction in monthly instalment or extension of repayment tenure.

The relief can be easily accessed via the banks specific email or through its designated branches., applications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, the bank is also offering waiver of fees and charges for selected services, such as replacement of debit cards, ATM cards or cheque books lost or damaged during the floods.

Meanwhile, Maybank Group’s insurance arm, Etiqa, has put in place a quick and easy claim process for its insurance policyholders and takaful certificate holders, with no forms or supporting documents required.
