Bursa Marginally Lower At Midday Amid Weak Sentiment

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session on Friday marginally lower, dragged down by selling in selected heavyweight counters amid weak market sentiment.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) shaved 0.63 of a point, or 0.04% to 1,456.78 from Thursday’s close of 1,457.41.

The KLCI opened 0.16 of a point better at 1,457.57 and moved between 1,455.9 and 1,461.4 throughout the morning trading session.

On the broader market, decliners led gainers 429 to 342 while 440 counters were unchanged, 1,049 untraded and 45 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.64 billion units valued at RM1.49 billion, Bernama reported.
