Evergreen Fireboard Bhd (EFB) announced the appointment of Coral Hong Kim Heong as the new independent and non-executive director effective today (Jan 2).
In a Bursa listing day, the furnishing company said Hong, 53, is a Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) associate member and holds a Certificate in Accounting from London Chamber of Commerce Industry (LCCI Higher Accounting).
She started her career with a local bank and subsequently in an international commodity trading company in the field of accounting and shipping documentations.
“Thereafter, she left the accounting field and trained in chartered secretaryship with a reputable secretarial arm of an international public accounting firm.
“She gained extensive exposure in various areas including corporate exercises, fund raisings, equity restructurings, group restructurings, debt conversions, debt equity securities, bonus and rights issues, mergers and take-overs, listings and other special assignments,” it said.
In addition, EFB said she also assisted in a wide array of corporate secretarial services to private companies and public listed groups of companies of local and international investors.
“Upon leaving the firm, she began her career as Company Secretary in a few listed groups of companies in various industries (including plantation in timber and palm oil and its related manufacturing),” it said.
It added that Hong is currently appointed as Ho Wah Genting Berhad’s company secretary and Secretarial Department head and is responsible for the statutory compliances and corporate affairs of the group.
