Galas Assemblyman Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim revealed that an additional RM3.75 million is required for the maintenance of four identified locations, including those with potholes and damages along the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai Road (FT08).

According to Bernama, the Member of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) shared that the request for additional funds has been submitted to the Kelantan Public Works Department (JKR) and anticipates a meeting with the Ministry of Works (KKR) in the near future.

During a briefing session held yesterday with the Director of JKR Kelantan, Mohd Suhaili Ismail, the Special Project Unit of the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) 1 JKR, and Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd, Mohd Syahbuddin highlighted that JKR still requires an additional allocation of RM3.75 million to address damages on the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai Road (FT08).

Expressing his commitment to addressing the urgent needs of the people, Mohd Syahbuddin stated, “I will collaborate with the state JKR to seek consideration from the Ministry of Works (KKR) to expedite the approval of this request.”

Providing further insights, Mohd Syahbuddin explained that the maintenance project for the 95-kilometer Gua Musang-Kuala Krai Road commenced from May to October last year, incurring an initial cost of RM8 million across various locations.

However, the additional funding is deemed necessary for continuous repairs to ensure the safety of road users. The assemblyman emphasised the urgency of the situation, underlining the paramount importance of securing the requested funds promptly.
