eKYC Process For PADU Registration Not Hindered By Glasses – Rafizi Ramli

Economy Minister Mohd Rafizi bin Ramli reassured individuals wearing glasses that the electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) process for Central Database (PADU) registration is not impeded.

Responding to concerns, Rafizi clarified that the eKYC procedure involves uploading a selfie while holding the identification card, and wearing glasses does not pose a problem.

Rafizi emphasised that users should update their mobile phone operating systems to the latest version, clear cache, and ensure the browser is not in private settings for a smooth e-KYC process.

As of 9 am today, 230,443 users have completed the eKYC process, with 61% verification achieved since PADU’s launch last Tuesday, registering a total of 456,136 users.

Addressing the ‘error code 100’ issue encountered by some users, Rafizi explained that those who register via computer or laptop receive a QR code.

This code must be scanned using a smartphone for capturing photos of the ID card and a selfie.

Users facing the ‘error code 100’ problem are advised to update their smartphone operating systems, clear cache, and ensure non-private browser settings.

Assistance is available at PADU counters, the locations of which can be found at padu.gov.my/hubungi/lokasi.

Rafizi urged users to update employment information, while the unemployed can input aid or contribution details received.

The PADU system’s information control mechanism mandates individuals to certify and verify updated information after e-KYC identity verification.

Rafizi stressed that verified information cannot be amended except through a complaint to the Public Complaint Management System (SISPAA).

Highlighting the government’s commitment to cybersecurity, Rafizi assured continuous monitoring and testing of the PADU system to identify and address any defects or weaknesses.
