Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow shared on this Facebook page on the updates over his October statement that he will be taking legal actions against Tan Sri Dato Tan Kok Ping over his defamatory statement.
In October 2023, Chow had said he will be taking legal action against the Lifetime Honorary President of the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Tan Sri Tan Kok Ping for his statement which he deemed was humiliating and degrading.
It was in relation to Tan Sri Tan Kok Ping who used words that humiliating and degrading, the CM said. This was partly in relation to the aborted land deal between Umech and Penang Development Corporation.
The posting read “My solicitors extracted the sealed copy of the Writ and Statement of Claim. These legal documents will soon be served on Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Tan Kok Ping for defamatory remarks made at a press conference by the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce on Oct 18, 2023.
