Capital A Group Chief Executive Officer on his social media posts has suggested that AirAsia and AirAsia X be branded under one single name for better marketing purposes.
The founder of the low cost airline was on one of the AirAsia X flight serving guests their meals when he posted on his LinkedIn account on the idea which he said was his personal thinking. While the suggestion could be not a bad one, the two brand approach which the group has been operating under since inception can be quite restrictive and costly. Despite the confusion on which airline operates which sector, the cost to promote two separate airline that look almost similar expect that one has X and the other hasn’t can be a marketers nightmare.
