TYMBA Awards RM3 Million Scholarships To 20 Students In Accounting Quiz

TYMBA Education, in collaboration with ACCA and ICAEW, supported by MyPAC and Yayasan Peneraju, has awarded scholarships worth RM3 million to 20 secondary school students. The scholarships were granted as a result of their exceptional performance in the National Accounting Quiz Challenge (NAQC) 2023, held by TYMBA Education from 9th to 17th December 2023.

Aligned with Malaysia’s objective of producing 60,000 Chartered Accountants by 2030, TYMBA Education initiated the NAQC to inspire students, particularly from the Bumiputera community, to pursue rewarding careers in accounting. The quiz provided a platform for Form 4 and Form 5 students to showcase their accounting expertise through SPM-level questions, incorporating High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) inspired by ACCA and ICAEW.

The NAQC has garnered RM1.8 million in scholarships from Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera and the Malaysia Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC) to date. CEO of TYMBA Education Group, Airil Razali, expressed the organisation’s commitment to providing specialized education and career opportunities for accounting talents in Malaysia.

“For the 2023 NAQC, we witnessed 3,500 students participating, indicating a growing interest in the field. By offering these young talents a platform to showcase their skills, we aim to propel them towards continuous excellence in the accounting field,” said Airil Razali.

TYMBA Education, recognised as an ACCA Approved Learning Partner, ICAEW Partner in Learning, and a BPP Tuition Solution Associate Provider, plays a crucial role in preparing students for global accreditations. Over 3000 students have passed their examinations with TYMBA’s support.

ACCA’s Business Development Manager for Education, Raymond Chang, commended TYMBA’s dedication, stating, “We appreciate the dedication and hard work demonstrated by TYMBA in achieving this shared vision.”

ICAEW, Head of Malaysia, Ms. Shenola Gonzales, highlighted TYMBA’s efforts in contributing to the growth of Bumiputera professionals and chartered accountants in Malaysia and beyond.

In its pursuit of nurturing future accounting talent, TYMBA remains committed to providing competitive platforms like the NAQC. Through these initiatives, TYMBA aims to cultivate the next generation of accountants and business leaders who can thrive in the evolving accounting landscape.
