During the ceremony, Prime Minister Anwar and Prime Minister Lee signed a plaque, symbolising the dedication of both countries to the project, which has achieved a remarkable 65% completion as of December 31, 2023, aligning with the scheduled timeline.

According to Bernama, key figures including Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Singapore Acting Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat, and Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi also attended the ceremony.

The RTS Link project, spanning four kilometers with stations at Bukit Chagar and Woodlands North, is a commuter train network designed for a capacity of up to 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction.

With an estimated journey time of five minutes between the two stations, the RTS line is slated for full operation by December 2026, promising an efficient and comfortable commute between Singapore and Johor Baru.

The ongoing discussions regarding the RTS project and the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone initiative are expected to elevate bilateral relations between the two countries to new heights.
