Binasat Communications has informed that the acquisition of 6.75% equity interest in the company by Opcom VC Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hextar Capital Berhad (formerly known as Opcom Holdings Berhad) has been completed.
Following this strategic acquisition, the aggregate equity interest of 24.78% held by OVCSB enables Binasat to benefit from synergies and strategic initiatives that are aligned with the Company’s strengths in the telecommunications sector. This move it said will fortify its position as a key player in providing telecommunication support services for satellite, mobile and fibre optic networks, as well as transmission and distribution for network utility infrastructure construction services.
The collaboration will leverage on each others strengths with Binasat having Network Facilities Provider License, combined with Opcom’s industry expertise and resources.
