Bursa Stays Higher At Midday On Persistent Buying In Heavyweights

Bursa Malaysia stayed higher at midday on Monday, supported by persistent buying in heavyweight stocks while tracking its regional peers. 

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 8.67 points to 1,496.01 from last Friday’s (Jan 12) close of 1,487.34.

The KLCI opened 0.94 of a point better at 1,488.28 and moved between 1,487.81 and 1,496.88 during the morning session.

On the broader market, gainers led decliners 463 to 417, while 424 counters were unchanged, 915 untraded and 20 suspended, Bernama reported.
