UEM Edgenta Reinforces Anti-Corruption Commitment On Annual Integrity Day

UEM Edgenta Berhad, a prominent Asset Management and Infrastructure Solutions company, reinforced its dedication to ethical and transparent business practices during its annual Integrity Day event. Themed “Reinventing the Future Through Good Governance,” the event signaled UEM Edgenta’s strategic initiatives to enhance its commitment to good governance.

Officiated by Deputy Inspector General of Police, YDH Dato’ Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, the event aimed to raise awareness and promote ethical behavior among UEM Edgenta employees.

Key stakeholders, including Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM), Rasuah Busters, the Community Education Division of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), and SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. (SIRIM QAS), attended the event.

UEM Edgenta Managing Director and CEO, Syahrunizam Samsudin emphasised the significance of integrity and transparency as the cornerstones of sustainable growth.

The company expressed its commitment to combatting bribery and corruption through a zero-tolerance policy, supported by initiatives such as the Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC) Policy & Guide, policies addressing conflicts of interest, and accessible whistleblowing platforms.

As part of its commitment to good governance, UEM Edgenta obtained the ABMS 37001 certification (Anti-Bribery Management System) from SIRIM QAS. The certification was presented by Mohd Faisal Abdul Shukor, Group Chief Marketing Officer, SIRIM Berhad, during the event.

UEM Edgenta announced its collaboration with Rasuah Busters, a leading anti-corruption NGO, as its Synergy Partner. This partnership aimed to intensify anti-bribery and anti-corruption initiatives, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability through targeted activities and awareness campaigns.

The Integrity Day event featured impactful talks by representatives from PDRM, addressing topics such as safeguarding against cybercrime and workplace sexual harassment. The day concluded with a meaningful ceremony where car stickers with the empowering message “Speak Up” were distributed and affixed to company vehicles, symbolizing the commitment to voicing concerns and standing against unethical behavior.
