DHL Supply Chain Strengthens Leadership In Asia Pacific With New Key Appointments

DHL Supply Chain, a global leader in contract logistics, has announced strategic leadership appointments in the Asia Pacific region, enhancing its management team. The appointments include Sivananthan Sukumaran (Siva) as Head of Operations for DHL Supply Chain Southeast Asia, Matthias Gehrsitz as Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Indonesia, and Louis Liao as Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Taiwan.

Sivananthan Sukumaran (Siva) – Head of Operations for DHL Supply Chain Southeast Asia: Siva, previously the Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Indonesia, assumes the role of Head of Operations for Southeast Asia. In this capacity, he will be instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency and performance across the organization’s Southeast Asian cluster. Siva’s proven track record in driving growth and improving overall performance positions him as a valuable addition to DHL’s leadership team.

Matthias Gehrsitz – Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Indonesia: Effective January 1, 2024, Matthias Gehrsitz takes over from Siva as the Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Indonesia. With an extensive 11-year tenure at DB Schenker Malaysia, Gehrsitz brings valuable experience in project management, tender management, solution design, and operations. He is tasked with continuing DHL Supply Chain Indonesia’s growth trajectory, overseeing strategic projects, including the DHL Maheswara Green Logistics facility in West Java.

Louis Liao – Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Taiwan: Louis Liao, with a background in DHL Supply Chain and recent experience as the Managing Director of S.F. Express in Taiwan, returns to DHL as the Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Taiwan. His wealth of experience in service logistics, strategic planning, and successful leadership through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic positions him as a key leader to drive long-term growth and value for customers in Taiwan.

DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific CEO, Javier Bilbao expressed enthusiasm about these key appointments, emphasiaing the leaders’ unique expertise and proven track records. The strategic moves align with DHL’s commitment to fortifying its presence in the dynamic Asia Pacific region, following a significant €350 million investment under the ‘Grow Southeast Asia’ initiative announced last year.

DHL Supply Chain Southeast Asia CEO, Andries Retief highlighted the leaders’ roles in expanding and tailoring solutions to meet diverse customer demands in one of the world’s fastest-growing regions.

Senior Vice President, Service Logistics AP, Taiwan & China Rep Office, Edwin Wong expressed confidence in Louis Liao’s leadership, anticipating his contributions to realising DHL Supply Chain Taiwan’s full potential as a market leader.

These leadership appointments reinforce DHL Supply Chain’s commitment to providing innovative logistics solutions and maintaining its position as a global industry leader.
