AirAsia X Berhad has appointed Dato Shazalli Ramly who is also the non executive director of the low cost airline as part of the group’s audit comittee.
He will be joining Ms Chin Min Ming and Chairman Dato Mutalib Alias as part of the new composition of the audit board.
The changes will take effect today.
Dato Shazalli joined the group in September 2023 after a rather rocky stint at Boustead Holdings before leaving the conglomerate. He is known for his marketing prowess, having been in various industries including, television, telecommunication, tobacco, and plantation. From 2020 to 2022 he was the Group Managing Director at Boustead Holdings Berhad. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, of Telekom Malaysia Berhad having come from Axiata as its Regional Chief Executive Officer and Corporate Executive Vice President. –
Among his longest service was when he helmed Celcom as its CEO from 2005 to 2016, his resume includes being the Chief Executive Officer, NTV7 and Marketing Director, ASTRO, Group Brand International Marketing Manager, Malaysian Tobacco Company and British American Tobacco and Group Brand Manager, Unilever.
