HSBC Unveils Iconic Lion “Stitt” At Menara IQ To Mark 140 Years In Malaysia

In celebration of its 140th year anniversary in Malaysia, HSBC commemorated its enduring commitment to the country’s growth and development by unveiling the iconic lion sculpture, Stitt, at Menara IQ, Tun Razak Exchange. HSBC Malaysia CEO, Dato’ Omar Siddiq inaugurated the ceremony, officially marking the beginning of the anniversary celebrations.

Stitt, the symbolic representation of growth and prosperity, joined the lineage of HSBC’s iconic lions, which first made their appearance at the Shanghai branch in 1923.

These majestic sculptures have since become emblematic guardians, adorning HSBC offices worldwide, including Malaysia.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Dato’ Omar Siddiq highlighted HSBC’s integral role in Malaysia’s growth over the past 140 years. “Since opening the doors to our first office in Penang in 1884, we have supported our customers and communities, growing and prospering together. The installation of Stitt at our Malaysia headquarters in Menara IQ is a tangible representation of our dedication to our clients throughout our history and for the years to come.”
