Low Turnout In PADU System Updates Raises Concerns Over Compliance

As of January 23, only 1,613,454 individuals out of the 30.08 million registered have updated their information on Malaysia’s Central Database Hub (PADU) system. The PADU system, launched on January 2, aims to enhance effective data management, facilitating collection and storage from various sources for improved government service delivery.

According to Bernama, Selangor leads in updated information with 292,534 people, followed by Sarawak (201,399), Johor (164,235), Perak (133,369), and Sabah (124,375). However, the overall turnout raises concerns, with a significant portion of the registered population yet to comply.

In a recent announcement, PADU emphasiSed that all civil servants must register and update their information on the system by February 15. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during the system’s launch, highlighted its role in enhancing government services.

The lower-than-expected participation highlights the need for increased awareness and urgency for individuals to update their details promptly.
