MATRADE Launches eBizLink 2024 Programmes To Boost MSMEs In Digital Trade

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) took a significant step forward in empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the inauguration of the eBizLink 2024 Programmes. Designed to enhance digital trade capabilities, this initiative aims to propel local businesses onto the global stage by embracing innovative technologies and digitalization.

The Cross Border e-Commerce Development Programme, eBizLink, aligned with the government’s target of achieving a 15% contribution to exports from Malaysian MSMEs, as outlined in the Mid-Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan.

The program, running until 2025, mirrors strategic frameworks like the MADANI Economy Framework, the National Trade Blueprint (NTBp), and the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, emphasizing digitalization as a pivotal force for economic development and resilience.

MATRADE Deputy CEO, Mr. Abu Bakar Yusof expressed confidence in prioritising digital trade, emphasising digital marketing and e-commerce solutions as key drivers for MSMEs’ growth and resilience. The program aimed to create a more optimistic global outlook and enhance inclusivity among local entrepreneurs.

The eBizLink program will encompass thirteen digital campaigns and marketing initiatives strategically executed across global markets, including ASEAN, China, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Chile, and the United Arab Emirates.

MATRADE will collaborate with international partners and industry experts, while domestic collaboration with key players like DHL Express, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and PGMall aims to provide capacity-building and skill enhancement programs focused on cross-border digital trade.

In its inaugural year, the eBizLink program targeted to support 650 MSMEs in transitioning into digital exporters. The anticipated outcome is not just a numerical achievement but a strategic elevation of their digital presence on the global stage.

The program aspired to catalyse an estimated RM90 million in e-commerce export sales, reinforcing MATRADE’s commitment to empowering MSMEs for sustained growth and contribution to the economic landscape.

As MSMEs embark on their digital trade journey, the eBizLink program served as a guiding light, illuminating the path toward enhanced competitiveness and growth for Malaysian enterprises in the global marketplace.

MSMEs interested in participating in the eBizLink 2024 programs are encouraged to reach out to MATRADE’s e-Commerce Ecosystem Unit for comprehensive information about the scheduled activities.
