T7 Global Marks Foray Into Thailand Waters With New Mopu TSeven Shirley

Energy solutions provider T7 Global Bhd unveiled its latest mobile offshore production unit (Mopu), TSeven Shirley, during a grand naming ceremony held at the grounds of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Beihai Shipyard in Qing Dao in China.

In a statement, the group said the unit will be leased to Valeura Energy Inc under a RM400 million contract, operator of the Nong Yao oil field, in support of its Nong Yao C development.

“The Mopu has been completed and is scheduled to set sail for the Nong Yao oil field, in the Gulf of Thailand. This deployment is a significant milestone for T7 Global, as it marks the group’s foray into Thailand waters,” it said today (Feb 2).

T7 Global group chief executive officer Tan Kay Zhuin express his delight to share the successful naming ceremony for the unit, marking the completion of the construction phase.

“Following the ceremony, TSeven Shirley will start its journey to the Nong Yao field. We would like to extend our gratitude to our customers for their trust and confidence in us. We look forward to achieve the final delivery,” he said.

He said the Mopu shall begin its charter in 2024 for the next five years ensuring long-term financial visibility for the group, similar to the 10-year charter of TSeven Elise Mopu in Malaysia waters.

The RM400 million contract is poised to provide long-term financial visibility upon first oil.

“The group will focus on expanding its offshore energy assets as one of the growth drivers in the coming years,” Tan added.
