Elon Musk’s X To Allow Brands Run Ads Next To Specific Content Creators

Social media platform X has announced the implementation of new features allowing advertisers to exert greater control over ad placements. This development is a move that could help brands prevent exposure to unwanted posts on the Elon Musk-owned site.

According to Reuters, since Musk’s acquisition of the platform, formerly known as Twitter, advertisers have expressed reservations about potential brand association with undesirable content. Musk’s outspoken defense of free speech, coupled with the platform’s policy changes, has fueled advertiser wariness.

To address these concerns, X announced that advertisers will now have the option to run video ads alongside content created by specific individuals. Starting this month, advertisers can select preferred content creators, ensuring their ads appear before video content posted by these creators. This feature will be visible both in users’ home timelines and on the respective content creators’ profiles.

Moreover, X has revealed plans to introduce further customisation options in the future. Advertisers will soon be able to exclusively run promotions on a creator’s profile, thus eliminating any possibility of ad placement next to unwanted content.
