Shah Alam Stadium Demolition Estimated 6 Months Without Explosive Use

Selangor MB said the Shah Alam Stadium demolition process is expected to take six to seven months using conventional methods without the use of explosives. Although it takes some time, the method according to Dato’ Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari it is safer and does not affect the residents around Section 13.

The MB said a quicker method could be bombing the stadium down and will be completed within a day however this will cause some external effect especially on noise.

The general manager of the special project unit said the first phase involved the demolition and reconstruction of the Shah Alam Stadium starting this month and expected to be completed by December 2026. Datuk Ir Ruslan Abdul Aziz explained that the second phase is scheduled to start in January 2027 involving the indoor theatre, the sports and youth wing and the recreation area. The final phase for the construction of the integrated terminal and hotel is expected to start between January 2028 and December 2029.
