‘Viral Post On Nurul Izzah An Outright Slander’ – MOF

The Finance Ministry today condemned fake social media post alleging that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar was paid adviser to the Economic Stimulus Implementation and Coordination Unit Between National Agencies (Laksana).

In its posts on X, the ministry said the so-called agreement that has been disseminated in social media is a invalid draft of offer.

“The valid agreement that has been signed by Nurul Izzah is for a ‘pro-bono’ advisory service to Laksana, which means the service doesn’t involved any financial payment or benefits, as was disclosed the public.

“The viral post is an outright slander,” the ministry said in the post today (Feb 14).

On Monday, Nurul Izzah, who is the former Permatang Pauh MP said she will soon lodge a police report next week after the Chinese New Year celebration over a slanderous posting made against her, in her statement on Facebook.

Previously, a Facebook user uploaded a slanderous post against Nurul Izzah, claiming that she had been appointed as an advisor to Laksana and had received a salary of RM35,000.

The content also alleged that Nurul Izzah was allocated two staffers, who were paid between RM5,000 and RM20,000.
