Perdana Petroleum’s Unit Bags Vessel Charter Contract, Extension For RM38 Million (Updated)

Perdana Petroleum Berhad’s (PPB) unit Perdana Nautika Sdn Bhd (PNSB), had received a letter of award from Saujana Marine Sdn Bhd (SMSB) for the provision of one unit of accommodation work barge (AWB) and work order extension for another AWB unit valued at RM38.3 million.

AWB is a self-propelled manned vessel transporting more than 36 people, excluding crew members.

In a Bursa filing today (Feb 14), the offshore marine services company said the contract will commence on 15 January 2024 for a duration of up to 240 days with one extension option of up to 30 days from the commencement date.

“The contract is valued at approximately RM22.1 million, excluding option period. PNSB is to provide a unit of AWB with crew and equipment to perform a continuous service as per the scope of works agreed to assist SMSB’s project activities,” it said.

In a separate filing in Bursa today, the group said its unit PNSB has also received a work order extension from SBMB for one of its AWB unit.

“The contract extension is for 220 days from 24 December 2023, valued at RM16.2 million. PNSB shall provide 1-unit of AWB with crew and equipment to perform a continuous service as per the scope of works agreed to assist SMSB’s project activities.”

PPB said the contract and contract extensions is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of PPB Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2024.

“They will not have effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of PPB,” it added.
