BAT Malaysia Crowned Top Employer For Seventh Straight Year

British American Tobacco Malaysia Berhad (BAT Malaysia) has once again been recognised as a Top Employer in Malaysia by the Top Employers Institute, marking its seventh consecutive win.

In a statement today (Feb 15), it said that BAT as a group also received the award for Top Employer in the Asia Pacific and was one of the 17 certified Global Top Employers recognised worldwide by Top Employers Institute.

BAT Malaysia human resource director Adrita Datta said the company was awarded for its outstanding strategies and people practices along with its consistency and commitment to enriching the world of work on a global scale.

“We are honoured to be selected as a top employer once again. A huge congratulations to all our colleagues for continuing to make BAT Malaysia an inclusive and diverse place to work.

“Being chosen for the seventh consecutive year is a testament to our commitment to create an environment where every employee can thrive and contribute their best. It also validates the effort we put into creating a purposeful, inspiring place for our people to work in.

“Nurturing talent and instilling a growth mindset is at the core of our people strategy. We will continue to invest in the growth of our people by future-proofing them with the right skills and opportunities to support our purpose,” Adrita said.

Top Employers Institute is the global authority on recognising excellence in people practices, and its programme provides certifications for organisations based on participation and results of their human resources (HR) best practices survey.

The survey, which covers six HR domains consisting of 20 topics saw BAT Malaysia recognised for its outstanding standards in every assessment category, including: people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, diversity, wellbeing, among others.

Top Employers Institute chief executive officer David Plink said exceptional times bring out the best in people and organisations.

“We have witnessed this in our Top Employers Certification Programme this year. Amongst this community of outstanding organisations, BAT Malaysia, has proven their commitment to their employees on a global scale.

“We are proud to announce and celebrate these companies and their achievement in 2024,” he lauded.
