MATRADE, KUSKOP, SME Bank Collaborate To Boost 11 Malaysian F&B At EAM, Dubai

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has announced its collaboration with the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), and SME Bank in organising the participation of 11 Malaysian food and beverages (F&B) companies in the Export Accelaration Mission (EAM) at Dubai.

The trilateral partnership between MATRADE, KUSKOP, and SME Bank has successfully supported 69 Malaysian SMEs across six initiatives from 2022 to 2023. These initiatives, spanning various sectors such as F&B, Healthcare, ICT, and Oil & Gas, have facilitated the expansion of their export activities and entry into new markets, resulting in RM1.19 billion worth of export sales.

“MATRADE’s continued collaboration with KUSKOP and SME Bank underscores our commitment to empower Malaysian SMEs in fostering their growth to contribute significantly to the nation’s export. The mission not only serves as a platform to showcase Malaysia’s excellence in the F&B sector at a global stage but provides a gateway for our SMEs to access untapped markets,” said MATRADE, Director of Transformation and Digital Trade Division, Khairul Nizam Moonier

In conjunction with Gulfood 2024, from 17 to 24 February 2024, this collaboration aims to showcase Malaysia’s expertise and excellence in providing high-quality food and beverage products and services on a global scale. Annually held, Gulfood stands as one of the world’s premier trade fairs within the food, beverage, and luxury foodstuff sector. Its 29th edition retains its significance in facilitating connections across the global food and beverage industry, progressively expanding its influence by offering numerous business prospects. With more than 5,500 exhibitors and visitors from over 190 countries, this iconic event not only introduces fresh business opportunities but also addresses emerging global challenges with innovative solutions.

MATRADE through its office in Dubai will coordinate the programme for this mission including the SMEs’ participation in Gulfood 2024. Additionally, the mission is set to focus in empowering Malaysian SMEs in exploring global market particularly the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The goal is to be met by establishing connections with prominent buyers.

MATRADE remains dedicated to continuously assisting SMEs through collaborative efforts, providing effective channels for Malaysian manufacturers and professional service providers to showcase their world-class products and services globally. These efforts aim to enable Malaysian SMEs to thrive on an international scale, fostering higher employment rates and household incomes through spillover effects.
