PM To Meet NACCOL Next Week, Discuss The Potential Reduction In Rice Price

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today (Feb 16) said that the issue of rice price control will take center stage in the upcoming meeting of the National Action Council on Cost of Living (NACCOL). Originally scheduled earlier, the meeting has been postponed to next week to prioritise urgent matters, particularly regarding rice price control.

“We are rescheduling the NACCOL meeting to next week, where we will deliberate on setting the controlled price for rice. Although we cannot drastically lower the price, there is potential for reduction… We need to examine the sources of the supply, the involved contractors, and their profit margins,” he stated during his address at the MADANI Cheapest Sales program in Bandar Perda, local media reported.
