The Human Resources Ministry and Home Ministry said they have launched an investigation in relation to the case of 93 Bangladeshi foreign workers who had been abandoned by their employer in Cheras recently.,

According to findings the workers concerned were left idle without providing favorable employment and accommodation by the employer who had also failed to provide proper welfare these workers in terms of living space and food. Records show the workers were brought in November 2023by Ricoler Construction Sdn Bhd. In view of the case the both ministries have launched an operation to investigate on the employer for violation of the labour law.

The company will be subjected to various actions under the acts for failing to provide proper accommodation, failing to pay salary this will also result in the company from being blacklisted from future foreign worker hiring.

The authorities also have taken all rescued victims to JIM Putrajaya for business documentation before being brought before the Magistrate to obtain Interim Protection Order.
