Malaysia, Singapore  Business Community Seeking To Enhance Economic Ties In Johor

The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) and the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce (SICC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen business relations and promote mutual cooperation between their business communities.

This collaboration aims to deepen economic ties and relations between Malaysia, particularly in Johor, and Singapore to create a more vibrant and interconnected business environment.

The MOU was signed at the MICCI Southern Region office in Johor Bahru by MICCI Southern Region, Chairman, Lee Ting Kiat, and SICC Deputy Chairman, Wong Joo Seng, alongside MICCI President, Christina Tee, and SICC Chief Executive, Victor Mills.

Christina Tee highlighted the dynamic economic relationship between Malaysia and Singapore, emphasising the commitment to driving stronger economic growth and cultivating stronger business relations.

Lee Ting Kiat emphasised the historic significance of the MOU, noting that the two longest-serving chambers in Malaysia and Singapore have joined hands to promote a robust business environment.

Echoing this sentiment, Wong Joo Seng noted the strong trade ties between the two nations and expressed confidence in overcoming challenges and creating opportunities through collaborative efforts.

The collaboration between MICCI and SICC includes initiatives such as mutual economic cooperation, promotion of fellowship among business communities, and organizing various business events like trade delegations and economic discussions. Both chambers also aim to expand bilateral business networks and facilitate the exchange of vital business information for their members.
