Dewan Rakyat To Address Humanitarian Crisis In Palestine, Scammers, Football Naturalisation Policy

Today’s (Mac 4) Dewan Rakyat sitting will center on critical national issues, including the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, combating scammers, and reviewing the naturalisation policy in football.

According to the Order Paper on Parliament’s official website, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh (PH-Ledang) will question the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding the government’s plans and actions concerning the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

Dr. Siti Mastura Muhammad (PN-Kepala Batas) will address Prime Minister, questioning the losses incurred due to scams between 2020 to 2023 and seeking insights into the government’s comprehensive measures to combat such crimes.

Additionally, Jimmy Puah Wee Tse (PH-Tebrau) will direct a question to the Minister of Youth and Sports regarding the naturalisation policy in football. Jimmy aims to inquire about the number of players granted citizenship to represent Malaysia in the recent Asian Cup. He will also seek details on the Football Association of Malaysia’s efforts to enhance football quality and whether the naturalisation programme will continue in the future.

Following the oral question and answer session, the sitting will proceed with the debate on the Motion of Thanks for the Royal Address, initiated last week.

As per the Parliament’s official calendar, the current Dewan Rakyat meeting spans 19 days. The debate on the Royal Address by Members of Parliament commenced on February 27 and will conclude on March 7. Subsequently, relevant ministries will provide responses for four days beginning March 11.
