KLCI Remains Higher At Midday

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) remained in positive territory ahead of the Monetary Policy Committee’s (MPC) announcement on the overnight policy rate (OPR) later on Thursday.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI gained 2.32 points to 1,533.83 from Wednesday’s close of 1,531.51.

The benchmark index, which opened 0.19 of-a-point higher at 1,531.70, moved between 1,531.70 and 1,539.60 during the morning trading session.

However, the broader market was negative with losers beating gainers 416 to 413, while 424 counters were unchanged, 1,022 untraded and 29 others suspended.

Turnover amounted to 1.89 billion units worth RM1.17 billion, Bernama reported.
