Stellantis Malaysia Begins Operations, Appoints Jamie Francis Morais As Managing Director

Stellantis N.V. has officially launched its Stellantis Malaysia National Sales Company (Stellantis Malaysia) as of March 1, 2024. Stellantis Malaysia will serve as the principal entity overseeing marketing, sales, distribution, and aftersales for PEUGEOT and potentially other Stellantis brands in Malaysia.

This move reflects Stellantis’ strategic business strategy aimed at advancing its growth objectives in the ASEAN region, aligning with its electrification plans and the global Dare Forward 2030 strategy.

Jamie Francis Morais has been appointed as the Managing Director of Stellantis Malaysia.

Morais outlined the company’s priorities, including accelerating market growth, expanding product offerings, creating new dealership opportunities nationwide, and enhancing customer experience, with a particular focus on East Malaysia.

Stellantis Malaysia takes over as the brand principal from Bermaz Auto, the former distributor for the PEUGEOT brand in Malaysia.

While expressing gratitude to Bermaz Auto for its stewardship of the PEUGEOT brand, Morais emphasised Stellantis Malaysia’s commitment to continuing PEUGEOT’s growth trajectory and exploring opportunities to introduce a broader range of vehicles from the Stellantis portfolio.

Stellantis also disclosed plans to introduce future vehicles through Stellantis Malaysia, including the all-new PEUGEOT 408 and the locally-assembled PEUGEOT LANDTREK, along with models from other Stellantis brands such as Citroën, Alfa Romeo, and Jeep.

Additionally, Stellantis is investing over RM2 billion to maximise its plant in Gurun, Kedah, as a regional manufacturing hub, enabling the production of locally manufactured vehicles for both the Malaysian and ASEAN markets.

To enhance customer support, Stellantis has established a one-stop Call Center catering to PEUGEOT, DS, and Citroën vehicle owners in Malaysia.

The call center will provide centralised customer support services for sales and aftersales inquiries, address feedback and complaints, and offer 24/7 roadside assistance.
