AirAsia Malaysia Makes Historic Debut Flight To Perth, Australia

AirAsia Malaysia marks a significant milestone in its expansion strategy with the launch of its maiden flight to Perth, Australia.

The inaugural flight, operated by AirAsia’s Airbus A321neo aircraft, took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2) at 2:10 PM and landed at Perth International Airport on the same day at 7:50 PM local time, boasting an impressive load factor of 95%.

Passengers aboard flight AK604 were greeted with exclusive merchandise-filled goodie bags, adding to the excitement of the moment.

This new route opens up more options for AirAsia guests, with the number of flights between Kuala Lumpur and Perth increasing from seven to 14 flights weekly.

By expanding its reach to Perth, AirAsia reinforces its commitment to making air travel accessible to more destinations, solidifying its position as Asia’s leading low-cost airline.

AirAsia Aviation Group, Group CEO, Bo Lingam, expressed his excitement about launching AirAsia Malaysia’s first route to Australia, starting with the vibrant city of Perth.

He highlighted the significance of the new model A321neo aircraft with longer range capabilities, making it possible to operate these new services from Kuala Lumpur on a narrowbody aircraft, thereby offering more affordable travel options to Australia.

Perth holds a special place in the hearts of many Malaysians, attracting visitors for various purposes, including leisure, tourism, education, and visiting family and friends.

Additionally, Malaysia ranks as Western Australia’s fourth biggest international visitor market, contributing significantly to the local economy. On the flip side, Asia remains a sought-after destination for Australians seeking diverse and affordable travel experiences.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, AirAsia is offering all-in fares from Kuala Lumpur to Perth starting from only RM299* and from Perth to Kuala Lumpur from just AUD166* all-in-one-way.

The promotional fares are available for booking from today until 17 March 2024 for travel until 30 November 2024. Travel enthusiasts can book their flights through the AirAsia MOVE app or website, making it easier to plan their journey.
