AirAsia Malaysia Resumes KL To Pattaya Flights Starting June 17, 2024

AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK) has announced the eagerly anticipated return of services from Kuala Lumpur to Pattaya, Thailand, with thrice-weekly flights commencing June 17, 2024.

The reintroduction of the route to Pattaya signifies the airline’s ninth direct route to Thailand from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Penang post-pandemic, following Bangkok (Don Mueang International Airport), Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport), Krabi, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Hatyai.

This news closely follows AirAsia’s recent ‘Takeover Thailand’ campaign launch aimed at showcasing Thailand as the preferred travel destination for travelers from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and beyond.

Pattaya, Thailand’s eighth-largest city, has always been a popular tourism destination for both domestic and international travelers.

From the pristine shores of Koh Larn to the bustling Pattaya Floating Market, there’s something for everyone to explore in this coastal town. In 2019, AirAsia served over 60,000 travelers between Kuala Lumpur and Pattaya.

AirAsia Aviation Group, Group CEO, Bo Lingam, expressed his pleasure at the resumption of services to the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to making travel more accessible to second-tier cities like Pattaya.

With approximately 2.7 million guests flying from Malaysia to Thailand throughout 2023, the reintroduction of this popular route is expected to increase the number of travelers to and from Thailand this year, further enhancing the success of AirAsia’s ‘Takeover Thailand’ campaign.

To celebrate the resumption of this route, flights to Pattaya (U-Tapao) are now available for sale until March 24, 2024, starting from only RM99* all-in one-way from Kuala Lumpur and THB990* all-in one-way from Pattaya to Kuala Lumpur for travel between June 17, 2024, and June 16, 2025. Promotional fares can be booked on airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app.
