MN Holdings Appoints Former TNB CEO As Chairman

MN Holdings Berhad has welcomed the appointment of Dato’ Seri Ir. Baharin Din as its Independent Non-Executive Chairman, effective today. 

Dato’ Seri Baharin was the former Chief Executive Officer of Tenaga Nasional Berhad from March 2021 to February 2024. With extensive experience in the energy sector spanning over 35 years, he had led TNB with businesses across the value chain – generation, transmission, distribution, and retail – serving over 10 million customers in Malaysia and with presence in the United Kingdom, Kuwait, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and India.

Before his appointment as the CEO of TNB, he was the Chief Distribution Network Officer from August 2018 to February 2021, overseeing the most extensive business division in TNB that is at the heart of enabling the energy transition for Malaysia. 

Dato’ Seri Baharin has also served as the Managing Director of Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd from March 2007 to November 2011, overseeing power generation, distribution and supply to Sabah and Labuan and was the Director of the Electrical Inspectorate Department in Sabah and Pahang, under the Ministry of Energy, Telecommunication and Post Malaysia. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Syracuse and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Bond University, Sydney/ UNITEN, Malaysia.
