Govt Hands MAHB Another 45 Years Contract To Manage Airports

The Malaysian government, in partnership with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), has formally signed a new operational agreement aimed at entrusting MAHB with a continued role in the management and development of the 39 airports and Short Take-Off and Landing ports (STOLports) for the next 45 years. The announcement was made by the Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke.

Under the extended contract terms, the operational and land lease agreements between the Malaysian government and MAHB have been prolonged by 35 years, extending until 2069.

This strategic move is anticipated to bolster MAHB’s position and further augment its market share in the aviation industry.
