10 Days Left, PADU Hits 6.73 Million

With ten days left before the central database collection system by the government PADU closes, the application formulated to disperse government aid for the lower community is still lagging behind with only 6.73 million registered out of 30.08 million.

Economic Minister Rafizi Ramli has called for those who have yet to register to do so or face the possibility of mission out on subsidies or aids that could be initiated very soon starting with the fuel subsidy. The government will soon resort to floating the petrol price with those below a certain income threshold will be given direct rebate once they have updated their profile on the PADU application.

“From March 31 onwards, the existing and updated data in PADU will be used as a guide to formulate policies and will be used to determine individual eligibility for government programs, assistance and subsidies. If you do not register and update data in PADU, the government will use data obtained from existing government departments that risk being inaccurate or not up-to-date,” Rafizi said.

Selangor has the most number of areas that have yet to register, followed by Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak and Johor as of last week.
