Toyota Records Dip In Sales For February

Toyota Motor Corporation announced its sales, production, and export results for February 2024 as well as the cumulative total from January to February 2024, including those for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. and Hino Motors, Ltd.

For the two months combined the worlds largest automotive company saw its sales rise 4.1% to 1.5 million but sales from its domestic market plunged 24%. However the biggest impact to the group was from the beleaguered Daihatsu division which saw its worldwide sales dipping 58% while domestically it lost over 72% of sales.

As for February the group recorded 719, 630 units in worldwide sales which was a drop of 6.9% from the corresponding month. Domestic sales was severely down dropping 33.3% to 103,946 units sold with Daihatsu dragging down further to mere 18% in recorded sales.

Cumulative sales for the 2 months in Malaysia was also down by 14.5% to 13,756 units.
