HSS Engineers Berhad has stated that is taking a 12% equity stake in PT Oriental Consultants Indonesia hence making its presence in Indonesia.
PT Oriental is an Indonesian firm specialising in engineering consultancy services, including engineering design, urban planning services, and construction consultancy. It is also a 55% subsidiary of Oriental Consultants Global Co. Ltd, a leading Japanese integrated engineering consulting firm, who signed a preferred partnership with HEB Group in
2022 to explore potential infrastructure projects in the region.
Tan Sri Ir. Kuna Sittampalam, Executive Vice Chairman, HSS Engineers Berhad, said: “Our acquisition of a 12% equity stake in PT Oriental is to take advantage of the booming construction sector in Indonesia, along with our partnership with OC Global in the country. This marks our deeper relationship with OC Global following our earlier venture on project management consultancy for Phase 1B of the Jakarta Light Rail Transit project.
The significant venture marks an important step in HEB Group’s strategic expansion and diversification, allowing the Group to deploy its expertise in the Indonesian construction sector.
The remaining stakes in PT Oriental are held by PT Wahana Mitra Amerta and PT Bamko Karsa Mandiri, which hold 18% and 15% equity respectively.
