MCMC Shuts Down Online Swinger Group With PDRM

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), has successfully shut down an online swinger group involved in the swapping of spouses. This operation came to fruition following public complaints and vigilant monitoring by MCMC.

Recent joint operations conducted by the Enforcement Division of MCMC and PDRM in Kedah and Johor revealed the existence of a group of swingers who had amassed a significant collection of pornographic videos. During the raid, authorities seized mobile phones, computers, and thumb drives belonging to the suspects for further investigation.

Among the individuals apprehended were three suspects, aged between 39 and 50, who were identified as administrators (admins) of the platform ‘X’ used by the swinger group.

It was discovered that these suspects were not only managing the platform but also profiting from the sale of pornographic materials.

Their modus operandi involved uploading short video clips via platform ‘X,’ and interested individuals were charged between RM100 to RM400 for access to full-length videos through the Telegram application.

The case is currently under investigation under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588), which carries severe penalties including a maximum fine of RM50,000 or imprisonment for up to one year, or both, upon conviction.

The public is reminded to use network services and online applications in accordance with the laws of the country and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
