The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on Wednesday on better buying support after the US Dollar Index (DXY) retreated after recent gains by the greenback.

At 9am, the local currency climbed to 4.7480/7520 versus the US dollar from Tuesday’s closing of 4.7515/7535.

The dollar retreated despite the US Jobs Openings and Labour Turnover (JOLTS) report showing that job openings rose slightly to 8.75 million in February from 8.74 million in the preceding month, Bernama reported.
