Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick, announced Bank Rakyat’s dividend payment for the financial year 2023 of 15% with a total payout of RM424.62 million with payments will be made starting April 5, 2024.
The Minister said the encouraging financial performance has enabled the Bank to optimise capital and maintain high dividend payments as rewards to all members and stakeholders of Bank Rakyat for their continued support. In conjunction with its 70th Anniversary, Bank Rakyat also announced special dividend of 2% with a total payment of RM56.62 million and will be distributed based on eligible shareholdings on 31 December 2023. The payment of this special dividend will be done in September 2024 in conjunction with the celebration.
Meanwhile, he said Bank Rakyat continues to support the annual mandate for the cooperative ecosystem by contributing as much as 2% of profit before tax and zakat amounting to RM35.47 million was donated to Cooperative Education Trust Fund and 1% equivalent to RM17.74 million to Cooperative Development Trust Fund. The total contribution for the year 2023 is as much as RM53.21 million.
